About us
Created in December 2020 at the initiative of Québec’s Ministry of Economy and Innovation, the Conseil de l’innovation du Québec (the Conseil) was given the mission of boosting innovation within Québec’s businesses and society.
In announcing the creation of the Conseil, the minister also made official the appointment of Luc Sirois as director general of the new organization and chief innovator of Québec.
Acting primarily as an advisory committee, with the support of a team of permanent staff, its members advise the minister on strategies to propel our innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems as well as to multiply their economic and social benefits in key sectors for Québec’s future.

The team at the Conseil de l’innovation du Québec supports businesses in the province to accelerate their innovation projects by referring them directly to the required expertise and/or funding opportunities that meet their needs.
Mandate of the Conseil de l’innovation du Québec
The mission of the Conseil de l’innovation du Québec is divided into four parts.

Inform the ministry’s decisions through data and analysis, objective performance measures, studies, relevant analyses and collective intelligence.
As chief innovator, I advise the Minister of Economy and Innovation on the challenges and opportunities related to innovation. I am strongly supported by the experience and know-how of the Conseil’s members. Together, we are directing efforts and resources to achieve a vision for an innovative, green and prosperous Québec. Ambition, creativity, boldness and collaboration are what drive this vision.
With the help of my team, I contribute to driving Québec’s innovation ecosystem, while encouraging creativity, cooperation and collaboration and mobilizing stakeholders. I also help promote the culture of innovation and showcase the excellence of the ecosystem’s experts, talents and players.
